Vaping Zone recently approached me and asked if they could send me a few of their products to review. I told them “sure!” They then sent me the Vaporesso Revenger and two bottles of their own brand of vape juice.
I’m going to cover the Vaporesso Revenger first and then, as a bonus at the end, tell you about Vaping Zone’s e-juices.
Let’s get started.
The first thing you’ll want to note is that the Vaporesso Revenger is much larger in person than it looks in pictures. It measures 45mmX89mmX28mm. It’s a hefty mod that takes dual 18650 batteries to operate.
It has a resistance range of 0.05-5 ohms, a temperature control range of 200F-600F, and can go from 5-220 watts. It’s a powerful beast in those regards! Plus you can control all the factors mentioned, or run it in bypass mode, which is pretty neat.
It comes in seven different colors (shown here in blue), so you have plenty of options if you want to match your vape to your wardrobe.
The tank holds a whopping 5ml of juice and has some unique features (which I’ll get into below). It’s made from stainless steel and takes its own ceramic coils.
So how does the mod hold up to testing?
To be honest, this mod is pretty great. Despite being a little larger than I thought it would be, it’s comfortable to hold and very ergonomically designed.
The screen display is beautiful to look at and intuitive to use. It’s a very easy mod to operate.
The fire key is a little stiff when you first break this baby out of the box, but it quickly loosens up and becomes easy to operate. The feel is very similar to a “trigger” button on a video game controller — something it has in common with the other Vaporesso mod I reviewed a while back (the Target Mini).
It’s also a very powerful mod. A 220W power capability is nothing to scoff at. It’s comparable to SMOK’s Alien and G-Priv. (If you’re tired of SMOK mods, but still want a ton of power, this would be a great mod for you).
The battery life lasts a long time — you can vape for a good five hours of constant vaping (I’m a chain vaper) with no issues. It uses its dual batteries efficiently and doesn’t zap away battery power like some other mods I’ve tried. The battery cover is also easy to operate, unlike the G-Priv. It stays in place when you need it to, but you DON’T need a flathead screwdriver to pop it open when you go to change the batteries — you can easily open it using just your hands.
It also has a lovely clock on it for when you want to look at the time but don’t feel like whipping out your cellphone. This isn’t really a necessary feature — nor does it have anything to do with its vaping capabilities — but I thought it was nice.
The mod is pretty much perfect. Let’s get that out of the way right here. ALL of my complaints have to do with the tank (which comes with the “kit” version of this mod).
The tank seems like a great idea in theory. It holds 5ml of juice (awesome), it takes ceramic coils (also good), and it has a unique design (nice).
Unfortunately, it just doesn’t pull off the execution of its grand ideas as well as it would like to.
It slides open from the top in order to fill it, but it doesn’t slide far enough, making it awkward to pour in the juice (you have to go in at an angle).
The non-removable drip tip is also stupidly large. I felt like I was wrapping my mouth around a car’s exhaust pipe, rather than having a leisurely vaping session.
The drip tip also has another problem: It makes everything taste terrible.
The drip tip has a “unique” grate design meant to prevent spit back from your mod. That sounds amazing in theory, but, again, they couldn’t quite pull it off. The metal grate that all of your vapor has to pass through in order to get to your mouth makes everything you put into it taste like metal. Gross.
It’s clunky and difficult to use and it made my favorite juices taste like blood. I hated it.
Final Thoughts on the Revenger
Great mod! I love it. I’ll continue using it for a long time to come.
I switched out the terrible tank it comes with for my Herakles Pro by Sense and it was good to go.
If you decide to buy this mod, buy JUST the mod. Leave the tank behind.
BONUS: Juice Review!
Vaping Zone also sent me two of their own brand of juice flavors to try. I’m only going to review one of them.
I had told the folks at Vaping Zone to send me non-milk flavors if they wanted me to review their juices. Unfortunately, one of the flavors they sent me was “Banana Nut Milkshake.” And, as longtime readers know, milk flavors set off my gag reflex like crazy. I honestly tried to vape the flavor to be a good sport, but I couldn’t do it. It gave me that massive wave of nausea and coughing fits I always get with milk flavors. I’m sorry. It might be good (maybe my milk-loving friend Knarf can give it a try!), but it definitely was NOT for me…
That left me with the one other flavor: Swag Berry.
Swag Berry is supposed to be a mix of “every berry.” Cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries…
I had to look it up on their website because I honestly couldn’t tell what the heck the flavor was just from vaping it!
Having that many different flavors in one bottle of juice is very ambitious, and perhaps a bit unwise. The flavors get so muddled that you can’t tell one from the other. No particular “berry” stood out more than the others.
The flavor wasn’t gross or unbearable — I’ll probably kill it off when I run out of my other juices — but it was…weird. It honestly tasted a bit alcoholic.
I handed it over to my boyfriend to try and he had this to say: “It tastes like alcohol and lipstick. It’s weird, but I like it. It’s good.”
He enjoyed it a bit more than I did. haha.
I wish Vaping Zone had sent me some of their “plainer” flavors to try. This one is a bit of a muddled mess. But I would love to try their take on something simple like plain ol’ strawberry or their “juicy peach” flavor.
However, for $4.99 for 30ml, I guess I really shouldn’t complain too much. Vaping Zone offers you a LOT of juice for insanely reasonable prices! And even though “Swag Berry” was immensely strange, it was NOT terrible. And, like I said, it wasn’t off-putting enough for me to give up on the company’s juices entirely. I really would like to try their take on some less ambitious flavor combinations.
On the whole, Vaping Zone seems like a great company. Other than the whole “milk” mix-up (which was likely my fault for not communicating my needs better), their customer service staff that I talked with was on-the-ball and eager to help. And they had a good grip on the English language (which is something that other vape companies I’ve dealt with have lacked).
Vaping Zone offers a variety of products in addition to their own brand of juices, and they offer them all at very reasonable prices. For example, the Revenger kit they sent me is a good $20 cheaper on their website than it was at my local vape shops or other online sites I looked into. Not bad!!
Try their juice if you have $5 to spare and you’re curious. I’ll leave that up to you. But if you’re looking for mods or tanks at reasonable prices, definitely give Vaping Zone a look. Their selection isn’t massive right now, but they’re adding to it all the time. I have high hopes for this company. 🙂
